EduSchedX Research Team
Who are the researchers of EduSchedX?
The researchers and developers of EduSchedX are Jodelyn D. Boleche, Graczielle Hans Conge, Venus C. Morados, and Patricio Vier L. Royo. They are Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students of Visayas State University Alangalang.
Who is the Capstone Adviser of EduSchedX?
Kent Claire Apple Joy M. Pallomina serves as the Capstone Adviser of the EduSchedX project and provides guidance to the research and development team.
What is EduSchedX?
EduSchedX is a web-based class scheduling system developed for Visayas State University Alangalang. Its official project title is “EduSchedX: A Web-Based Class Scheduling System Utilizing Genetic Algorithm for Optimized Timetable Generation.”
What is the purpose of EduSchedX?
EduSchedX is designed to assist authorized administrators in preparing academic timetables by organizing faculty assignments, classrooms, student sections, time slots, and scheduling constraints. It aims to reduce faculty, classroom, and section scheduling conflicts while producing timetable options for administrative review.
What algorithm and scheduling rules does EduSchedX use?
EduSchedX uses a Genetic Algorithm together with constraint validation and conflict checking. The system considers faculty time conflicts, section time conflicts, room conflicts, faculty availability, room type, room capacity, faculty workload limits, preferred time, and preferred room when evaluating timetable options.
Where is EduSchedX being developed and tested?
EduSchedX is being developed as a capstone project at Visayas State University Alangalang. The Department of Teacher Education serves as the intended pilot setting for system testing and evaluation.
Who uses EduSchedX?
EduSchedX is intended to support authorized administrators involved in academic scheduling, while faculty members can view relevant schedule information and provide feedback. Generated schedules remain subject to verification and approval by authorized university personnel.
What is the current status of EduSchedX?
EduSchedX is a capstone research and development project currently undergoing implementation, testing, and evaluation. Its present scope is limited to the Department of Teacher Education pilot setting and should not be interpreted as a university-wide official scheduling platform unless formally adopted by the institution.
